The Four Wheel Stampeders of Calgary is a non-profit organization and it is probably the oldest four wheel drive club in the Calgary area. It was originally formed and incorporated back in 1967 by a group of people who shared the same passion and enjoyment of the backcountry.

Our chief desire is to safely explore all trails available to the general public - no matter where they may take us. We also strive to keep as many trails open to the general public as possible whether they are exploration roads, seismic lines, logging roads or abandoned mining roads.

A general meeting is held every third Monday of the month and we attempt to go on as many day runs as is possible.

These are guidelines all members agree to follow while in the backcountry:
  • Respect all other user groups
  • No alcohol to be consumed while on a trail run. (Leave the drinks in camp)
  • Stay on trails at all times. (Provided it's safe to do so)
  • Leave no trace of garbage. Pack out more than what you packed in.

  • There are many advantages to belonging to our club:
  • Invitations from other clubs to participate in events in other Provinces and United States.
  • Membership in the Alberta United Recreationists Society.
  • Summer weekend camp-outs, four-wheeling, fishing, and campfires at night.
  • Participation in environmental awareness programs. This involves yearly organized clean-ups.
  • Developing new friendships with like-minded people.

  • Feel free to contact any one of our club members to find out more. You can find us hanging out in the forum.
